Deep breath. Anxiety. Stress. I’ve got a busy week ahead of me. Yesterday I got the galley proofs for book 2 in The Most Popular Guy in the School Series from my publisher. She wants me to turn it around by Friday so I know what I’ll be doing this week. Seeing a galley proof of your own words, all laid out for print production is one of the most awesome experiences. You look at it and see your name and then you see your words and think, “I did that! I wrote that!” And life is so good!
This book, Go West, Young Man, is my favorite of the trilogy because it takes my two guys so far outside their comfort zones. They dive head first into a brand new world, starting off by going to the Senior Prom together as an out male couple. The theme of this book is moving ever westward into new territory, new experiences, new challenges. In California for college their world is filled to overflowing with new experiences and distractions, distractions that sometimes put a serious strain on their young relationship. Will they be able to survive the worst life can throw at them? I hope so, but to find out, read book 2 when it comes out.
